Driver's Ed/Time Trial Technical Inspections
WHILE AN ANNUAL TECH IS NOT REQUIRED ANY MORE, WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR YOU HAVE YOUR CAR INSPECTED BY ONE OF THE TECH INSPECTION STATIONS LISTED BELOW OR YOUR OWN QUALIFIED SHOP.
All entrants must personally complete and sign the Drivers Ed / Time Trial Series TECH FORM for every event they enter. Bring the TECH FORM to Registration & Tech at the track. Tech will collect the FORM & complete a safety check. If all is OK, Tech will issue an event sticker. This** does not preclude Annual Tech at the beginning of each season. It does, however, keep the participant aware of the car's condition during the season. This will provide the safety and fun factor of GGR's Drivers Ed/TT Series.

Technical Inspection Notes for 2009
• Drivers must have completed registration and be through the TECH line PRIOR to the driver and instructor's meetings, (by approximately 7:30am).
• Participants must wear rubber soled, natural uppers shoes, long pants and a long sleeved shirt (natural, NOT synthetic fibers).  You may wear an approved, fire resistant Driving Suit.  Red or yellow clothing may not be worn at flagging stations.
• Street tires must have a minimum tread depth of 2/32 completely around at least 2 grooves (excluding wear bars).  R-rated tires and slicks must have visible tread indicators around the full circumference.  Keep an eye on tire pressures.  Pressures can vary by one pound for every 10 degrees in temperature.  Check tires cold!  It is not uncommon for tires at Drivers Ed Events to increase 5-10 lbs. during the course of the day.  If you have 7", 8", or 9" Fuchs wheels with rubber air valves, Porsche recommends the use of a valve stem support.  These are available from Porsche, Part #911.361.561.01.
• Lug nuts:  Always torque your wheels to the recommended specifications, typically around 94 foot lbs.  This will keep you from over torqueing the fragile alloy nuts.  The last thing you ever want is to have a nut head separate from the flange portion.  This can happen from a lug nut put on too tight, or removing an alloy lug when hot.  Advice for track use is to use the steel open head nuts.  Save the alloys for the street.
• How old are your seatbelts??  PCA Club Racing rules only allow harnesses 5 years old and younger.  If you have an older car and run with stock belts, consider replacing them.
NOW THE MOST IMPORANT THING, GO HAVE FUN!!!
• Use the TECH FORM as your guide to a complete technical inspection. Now that you have made the decision to participate in our DE/TT events, paid your entry fee and made the trip to the track, we do not want to turn you away for a technical violation. Due to your safety and the other drivers on the track with you, we really have no choice if your car is potentially unsafe.
