Golden Gate Region Ground School

Golden Gate Region Ground School
Ground School is required before participating for the first time in any GGR Driver's Ed or Time Trial events, regardless of entrant's experience. (If you believe you have a valid reason for us to make an exception, the waiver policy is here.) School is open to PCA members interested in learning more about the GGR Driver's Education/Time Trial series and competitive/performance driving.
For our next event, at Thunderhill on September 5 and 6, we are going to experiment with something a bit different: GROUND SCHOOL WILL BE HELD AT THE TRACK on Friday September 4th at 6:30 pm.
So, if you want to come to Thunderhill, sign up for the ground school and for the week-end of Driver's Education and Time Trial by following these links:

· Register here for the September 4, 2009 Ground School or visit http://www.motorsportreg.com and look for PCA-GGR Track Events.

Thunderhill Ground School

When: Friday night, September 4th, from 6:30 pm sharp until 9:00 pm [Attendees must be on time to receive credit for having attended the ground school].

Where: Thunderhill Raceway Park Tower, 1st Floor.

Preparation: Bring a pen or pencil, handouts will be provided.

Appetite: Pizza and beverages will be served.

Ground school consists of classroom instruction and video. The purpose is to introduce you to our Driver's Ed events, and what to expect when you attend one. You will learn how we run our events, about the on-track instruction program, and what you can expect from your fellow drivers. You will also meet other club members who are starting their track career.

We encourage (but don’t require) you to arrive at the track early if at all possible. Tech and registration will be opened from 5:30 until 6:15. Prior to classroom instruction students will prepare their car for tech and be guided through the at track tech and registration process by PCA-GGR experienced staff of volunteers. If you can go through tech on Friday evening, you will get a sleep a little longer on Saturday morning!!!
