Golden Gate Region Ground School
Golden Gate Region Ground School
Ground School is required before participating for the first time in any GGR Driver's Ed or Time Trial events, regardless of entrant's experience. (If you believe you have a valid reason for us to make an exception, the waiver policy is here.) School is open to PCA members interested in learning more about the GGR Driver's Education/Time Trial series and competitive/performance driving. We encourage you to register for a driving event before taking the ground school; however, you must have completed the school before the driving event takes place. Space for first time attendees at a driving event is limited by the availability of instructors. While completing the ground school does not guarantee you a spot in the next driving event, early registration will improve your odds. We send out acceptance notices to first time attendees one week prior to the driving event.
Ground school consists of a half-day of classroom instruction and video. The purpose is to introduce you to our Driver's Ed events, and to what to expect when you attend one. You will learn how we run our events, about the on-track instruction program, and what you can expect from your fellow drivers. You will also meet other club members who are starting their track career. You do not need to bring your Porsche nor will the cars be driven or inspected at the ground school.
Class runs from 9:30 AM sharp to roughly 2 PM. [Attendees must be on time to receive credit for having attended the ground school]
To enroll, go on-line to Motorsportreg and sign up for the ground school date of your choice. Ground school is held 2 to 3 weeks before each GGR track week-end.
