3/15/08 Autocross #1
The autocross season got off to a great start for 2008 at a new runway site at Alameda Point. Thundershowers were forcast for the day, but they all chose to play elsewhere, allowing the sun to poke through for most of the day. The runway started out damp, with some puddles, but between the sun and the exertions of the first run group, the surface quickly dried. Dan Thompson took the first shot at designing a course to fit on a 200 foot wide runway. Looks like we're in for a year of wiggle down, 180 sweeper, wiggle back.
The usual suspects were quick to knock the rust off and get back into the swing. Top time of day went to Andrew Blyholder in the Hamilton Engineering 914 and Top Time Ladies went to Debi Pressley in her 993 C2 S.
The first PAX win went to Larry Sharp from down in AX11, nipping past Andrew's AX04 time by half a second.
Next event will at back at Alameda on April 12th.
