Membership Event Update: Early 2024
New Year, New Beginnings! Due to unexpected circumstances, we must regretfully postpone our much-anticipated membership event initially scheduled for November 18th. Don’t fret! The event will now take place at the beginning of 2024, giving everyone more time to cherish the holiday season with family and friends. We're actively working on rescheduling the event and will send an official announcement once the details are ready. The stories we'll have to share upon our reunion will make the wait worthwhile!
2023 GGR Holiday Event: 12/10
Block your calendar for our yearly holiday event which will be held at the Blackhawk Museum on Sunday 12/10. You will receive the formal announcement and invitation shortly! We are looking forward to celebrating and wrapping up 2023 with you!
What is your first Porsche story? Share with us!
I've always dreamed of the day when I would own my very first Porsche. Little did I know that the dream would come true during the midst of a global pandemic. My cousin, Angela Ling, who had been a long-time member of the Porsche Golden Gate Region helped me find my 2016 Boxster Black Edition. Crazily it was housed down south in San Diego.
It was early in the pandemic, and the idea of traveling far and purchasing a car seemed daunting. But it didn’t stop me! The plane ride to San Diego was nearly empty and walking through airport security felt like a stroll through a library on a quiet Sunday afternoon. I wore double-layered masks, feeling somewhat suffocated, but the desire to own the right Porsche outweighed any fear. I had no idea what unexpected issues would present themselves during the process which made me more anxious.
When I finally laid eyes on the car in person, it was love at first sight. She became "my girl," and I couldn't wait to take her home. After an 8 hour exhilarating drive back home the very same day, I developed an incredible attachment for my new Porsche. We’ve been inseparable ever since!
