Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

November 5, 2025


Attendance

  • Present: President - Howard Yao, Vice President - Brad Zucroff, Secretary - Eric Wilson, Treasurer - Alan Jung, Membership - Wen Shen, Social - Diana Bogorodskaya, Autocross - Steve Forshay, Co-Webmaster - ​​Alexander Wu, Kurt Eckhardt - Co-Track Director Candidate, Steve Hogge - Chief Driving Instructor, Pia Delanoy - Concours Director Candidate (partial attendance), Dan Zitter - Club Race Chair Candidate, Christian Stangier - Track Tech Chair, Nugget Editor - Jim Tierney, Motoring - Cheryl Spott

Call to Order 6:04pm


President:

  • Elections are open for voting

  • Discussion around Club Award nominations

  • Discussion around Zone 7 Award nominations

  • Creative Director Update (via Howard)

    • Ryan has indicated his work commitments have increased significantly

    • We’ll keep him on as Creative Director (non-voting) for any small needs

    • We expect him to resign from the Webmaster position in January so the Board will need to appoint a new person to that role


Vice President:

  • Insurance in place for Motoring 2-Day Drive to Gold Country


Secretary:

  • Vote to approve October 1, 2025 minutes: APPROVED


Treasurer:

  • October 2025 financials discussion - club’s finances are no longer in the favorable range, vote to accept: APPROVED

    • Track program incurred significant loses with last Thunderhill event and Laguna Seca event

      • Club Racing registrations were collectively much lower across the two events than projected

      • Not accepting students at Laguna (and using that run group for Club Racing) caused us to miss out on significant potential revenue

    • Next year’s Track program may be challenged from a cash flow perspective due to the lower bank balance we’ll be starting the year with


Autocross Director:

  • New trailer should be ready for pickup in above 2 weeks, will continue working with Creative on trailer graphics

  • Autocross #8 had healthy participation

  • Autocross #9 is oversubscribed, with lots of first-time drivers

  • Still working on proposal for City of Alameda for timed events there

  • SA2010 helmet expiration for PCA Autocross has been extended to October 1, 2026 - so we can defer purchase of new helmets for another year

  • Building tentative schedule for next year, will coordinate with Motoring to avoid date conflicts


Track Director:

  • Co-Track Directors were not present

  • Christian Stangier presented a responsibility matrix for Track events

  • Discussion of revamping the Sponsorship Program for more differentiation between tiers (and potentially fewer tiers)


Motoring Director:

  • Two day Gold County Run coming up this weekend

  • Treffen at Sea on 9/22/2026 in Wine Country: will coordinate with other Zone 7 regions to host participants


Social Director:

  • Cars & Coffee with SF Sports Cars on Oct 25 had rain, still had good turnout (~50%)

  • SPCA Charity event at Autovino coming up on Nov 23: Cars & Coffee, ticketed “Pet of GGR” showcase, “fill the trunk” food donation drive, charity raffle (available for pre-sale) - Treasurer will create a Venmo account to accept digital donations

  • Cookie Decorating with Connie on Dec 14

  • Skipping Cars & Coffee this December, next one will be January 2026


Membership Director:

  • Nov 1, 2025 member counts

    • PCA GGR

      • 4011 total (2829 primary members, 1179 co-members, 3 honorary)

      • 161 PCA Juniors, 31 renewals, 54 dropped, 34 new members

    • PCA National: 167,967 active members (110,810 primary & 57,134 co-members)

  • Vote to accept new members: APPROVED

  • Discussion of new member welcome emails (3 sent from National) and the need to update our region’s welcome email

  • Discussion of year-end event, targeting Jan 24, 2026


Webmaster:

  • Working on transition plan for obfuscating individual’s Google emails


Nugget Editor:

  • Submission deadline for this month’s newsletter is Nov 15, 2025
