 Autocross #8:

Our eighth autocross event took place on Saturday, September 30th within the Sonoma Raceway. Thanks to Hooked on Driving, we conducted our event in paddocks B and C for our autocrossing needs. Attendance was light, as we were competing with one of the largest Porsche NA event – Rennsport. Thirty-seven drivers were treated to a double looping course designed by Ed Burghardt, with an average lap time of 48.851 seconds. The rain gods came over to watch our event in the afternoon. They must have been thrilled enough to bestow an abundance of rain in the middle of second run group runs in the afternoon. Unfortunately, the event had to be stopped early due to safety concerns with water building up on the course. A decision was made to count only the morning runs (first five runs) towards points, since the second run group had poor running conditions in the afternoon. Monty Pack took Top Time Of the Day with his fastest lap time of 38.831 seconds, followed by Himanshu Patel with his fastest lap time of 39.915 seconds, a distant second. PAX battle was tight with Brant Ballantyne garnering the top spot with his PAX time of 38.860, a mere 0.005 second faster than Monty’s.

And… there was just a bit of rain towards the end!
