GGR Has A Lot Going On: FunRuns, Autocross, Track
Dear GGR Members,
It is now spring and the GGR calendar is in full bloom. Motoring, Autocross, Track, Social events are fully populating the Club calendar. This is the ideal time of year - lots of events, dependable weather, and not too hot yet (bring allergy meds!).
If you’re not sure if you’ll enjoy one of our events, just give it a try. All of our events are designed to accommodate a wide range of experience and talent:
Our Motoring events are broken up to different run groups that go at a different pace. So the fast group will do the speed limit, the medium group will go 5 below the speed limit, while the beginner group will go 10 mph below the speed limit :-).
At each Autocross event, we have a group of seasoned instructors that can give you one on one instruction. Also your Porsches are put in performance based classes, so you are mainly competing with cars of similar capability.
Track is similar to Autocross, instruction is available at all events. We have an experienced instructor corps that has done an obscene number of miles driving at our four local tracks. You can get assigned an instructor that will coach you for a day or the weekend.
Finally our Social events, if you know how to park your car and drink coffee - then you have all the prerequisite skills needed - you’re all set!
I also wanted to try something new - a regularly scheduled Club bicycle ride. We are surrounded by beautiful roads, so if you need a little nudge to get off the sofa, you have been officially nudged. Look on our website calendar for upcoming dates.
