Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

February 4, 2026


Attendance

  • Present: President - Howard Yao, Vice President - Brad Zucroff, Secretary - Eric Wilson, Treasurer - Alan Jung, Membership - Wen Shen, Social - Diana Bogorodskaya, Autocross - Steve Forshay, Motoring - Cheryl Spott, Co-Track - Steve Hogge, Co-Track - Kurt Eckhardt, Concours - Pia Mancini, Webmaster (newly appointed) & Rally Director (newly appointed) - Jessica Toney, Club Race Director - Dan Zitter, Nugget Editor - Jim Tierney

President:

  • Webmaster

    • Ryan Holmes has resigned

    • Board vote to appoint Jessica Toney to serve out the remainder of the Webmaster term: APPROVED

  • Rally Directory

    • Would like to reinvigorate this activity category

    • Board vote to appoint Jessica Toney as Rally Director: APPROVED

  • Updates from Zone 7 President’s Meeting

  • Review of Insurance Requirements

    • Club activities with no cars moving are covered as part of PCA National’s policy

    • Moving-car events (or those where a facility wants to be named as additional insured) need a specifically-issued Certificate of Insurance and follow-up paperwork: waivers signed (SpeedWaiver per-event or paper-copy with a witness signing each page), post-event report, and observers report

    • Insurance covers bodily harm but not damage to a car

  • Bylaws Committee

    • National recommends updating bylaws every 4 years, and ours are relatively old

    • Bylaws are legal, and Policy and Procedures can be changed without voting

    • A new template is available from PCA National that we could start from

    • Revisions must be completed by upcoming November election so they can be approved by the membership who votes

    • Committee Volunteers: Eric, Jessica, Cheryl, Steve F, Diana

    • Would be an opportunity to change the official logo to our new branding - to be discussed by the committee

  • Discussion of Dummkopf Award and its relevance (or lack thereof) in the modern age

    • Is the award (and the joking behind it) understood and acceptable?

    • Should it only be “awarded” when the recipient consents to accept the award?

    • Recipients have historically been responsible for finding the next recipient, as soon as one appears

  • 2026 Budget presented, vote to accept: APPROVED


Creative Directory:

  • Not present (update provided via email)

  • Our website has been submitted for the PCA National Website contest


Vice President:

  • Discussion of revised internal process for insurance applications


Secretary:

  • Vote to approve January 7, 2026 minutes: APPROVED

  • Board Directory update in-progress, recently appointed members should send in contact information


Treasurer:

  • January 2026 financials discussion - club’s finances are stable, while in the less-than-favorable range, vote to accept: APPROVED


Concours Director:

  • Pia Mancini gave a personal introduction to the Board as recent joiner

  • Planning Concours event on August 2, 2026

  • Budget will be presented in a future board meeting

  • Concours Judging Class will be held, great opportunity to learn how to judge but also how to prepare a car for Concours


Track Director:

  • All contracts signed and deposits paid for HPDE season

  • Season Pass generated significant revenue upfront to help with cashflow needed for track contract deposits

  • First event is this upcoming weekend

    • Budgeted 59 registrations and got 80, so ahead of budget - and weather is forecast to be great!

    • 10 instructor candidates who will be trained, with instructor-to-instructor training on Sunday, plus several MSF Level 2 certification testing 

    • Piloting a streamlined check-in process

  • Second event is March 21-22, 2026 in Thunderhill, budgeted 92 and currently have 31 but expect to have more after the first event concludes

  • Applications for first two Club Racing events to PCA National process - Thunderhill in March is the first, event is approved, and registration is open

  • Looking for a date for an additional Club Race in partnership with POC, without impacting existing events

  • Working on adding Track dates to the Google Calendar for display on the website

  • Sponsorship Update

    • Met with Porsche Redwood City (along with Autocross) and presented case for DE sponsorship

    • In discussions with Elite Motorsports in Burlingame, BR Racing, and others - plan to visit them personally


Autocross Director:

  • Awards Lunch was successful

  • Trailer Update

    • New Trailer in storage location and is ready to go for next event

    • Will provide budget update for New Trailer in next meeting

    • Old Trailer bartered for transportation of new trailer

  • Zone 7 Training for Autocross Instructors and Course Designers on Feb 8 at Orinda public library with 50 people invited

  • Planning Autocross events for 2026

  • First event will be Feb 28 at Crows Landing

  • Continuing discussions with Alameda about a timed event with modest hope

  • Classifications have changed for 2026


Motoring Director:

  • Planning 11 events (including 3 over-nights) for this year, working on getting them on the Google Calendar for display on the website

  • 2026 Budget presented, vote to accept: APPROVED


Social Director:

  • First Cars & “Coffee” on February 15, 2016 - trying an afternoon format (3-5pm) based on host availability

  • Porsche Redwood City Women’s Event on March 7

  • Future Cars & Coffee planned at Euro Clinic on March 14, Dynamic Detailing July 18, and Euro Clinic with Toy Drive on December 5; other venues in progress

  • Planning a photo contest with production of a calendar from winning images


Membership Director:

  • February 1, 2026 member counts

    • PCA GGR

      • 4061 total (2860 primary members, 1197 co-members, 4 honorary)

      • 169 PCA Juniors, 137 renewals, 0 dropped, 32 new members

    • PCA National: 169,933 active members (112,110 primary & 57,823 co-members)

  • Awards Luncheon was a successful event with 93 attendees

  • Life member Karl Keller has passed away this past November

  • Vote to accept new members: APPROVED


Webmaster:

  • Jessica will start getting access to GGR systems

  • Concours and Rally pages will be added to the website


Nugget Editor:

  • Submission deadline for this month’s newsletter is February 16, 2026
