Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

May 7, 2025



Call to Order 6:11pm


President:

  • Discussion of LinkedIn presence, positions can be added referencing the official GGR account as a volunteer organization

  • Suggestion of reformatting Nugget newsletter as a single blog post

  • Discussion of sponsors and advertising revenue opportunities - will create a sub-committee to discuss further


Creative Director:

  • Website will be handed off to Webmasters

  • Working on goodie store with swag featuring new logo


Vice President:

  • Insurance for Buttonwillow track event will be secured soon


Secretary:

  • Vote to approve April 2, 2025 minutes: APPROVED


Treasurer:

  • April 2025 financials discussion and the club’s finance are healthy, vote to accept: APPROVED


Autocross Director:

  • Autocross 2 held April 13, 2025 at Salinas

  • Novice Car Control Clinic at Alamada held April 26, 2025 sold out registration in 24 hours 

  • Advanced Car Control Clinic at Alamada held April 27, 2025 had over 90 registrations, had to adjust the course design to maintain a safe environment

  • Next Autocross will be on May 17, 2025 at Salinas and has about 50 sign-ups already (expecting more)

  • Continuing to source new trailer, seeking new provider who can supply the base trailer and make our desired customizations


Nugget Editor:

  • Submission deadline for this month’s newsletter is May 14, 2025


Motoring Director:

  • North Bay Fun Run had 27 cars, and rain didn’t start until after lunch

  • Cambria overnight run has 15 cars signed up

  • Submitted another picture for Panorama


Track Director:

  • Thunderhill event in April surprisingly had lower registrations than the March event

  • Vote on hosting a Thunderhill DE/TT/CR event on September 13-14 with theming for PCA’s 70th anniversary: APPROVED

  • Presented updated budget including revised costs from POC for Laguna Club Race on August 22-24, retained Thunderhill DE/TT/CR event in September, new Laguna DE/TT/CR event on Oct 18-19, and purchase of a trailer

  • Discussion of an equipment trailer for track series

  • Vote on revised track budget: APPROVED


Social Director:

  • Members participated in Porsche and Pastries partner event on April 6 with Diablo/LPR/Porsche Fremont

  • “Seen on Skyline” event on April 19 was successful and pictures were great, will plan more similar events but keep them limited to 12 cars given logistics

  • Joint Event with Stevens Creek & Penske had about 50 GGR members sign-ups

  • Next Cars & Coffee is May 18 at ISSIMI - will provide parking map

  • Three events in June: “Paint Your Porsche” Art event with Porsche Redwood City, partner event in Gilroy, Cars & Coffee at Sonoma during track event

  • Surveyed members for additional event ideas


Membership Director:

  • May 1, 2025 member counts

    • PCA GGR

      • 3827 total (2678 primary members, 1146 co-members, 3 honorary)

      • 151 PCA Juniors, 113 renewals, 47 drops, 64 new members

    • PCA National: 164,102 active members (108,026 primary & 56,053 co-members, 23 honorary)

  • Vote to accept new members: APPROVED

  • Discussion of proposed details for GGR 65th Anniversary event, vote on proposed event budget: APPROVED


Webmaster:

  • Calendar page showing all categories of events in one place will be added
