Painting Porsches (and drinking coffee)

And just like that, we are halfway through the year! We’ve had a lot of fun here with Social, but I  also really enjoyed attending events with other branches of our club. Taking my new car to AX has been especially memorable. I really encourage everyone who frequents social events to try another club activity: motoring, track, AX. Just a quick warning, they can all prove highly addictive!

Our big May event was the ISSIMIxGGR  cars and coffee, which truly surpassed expectations thanks to the warm hospitality of our ISSIMI hosts. We turned the street block into one giant Porsche party. Amazing vibe, great turnout, beautiful lineup of cars, and fun and easygoing vibe.  Big thanks to our partners Kwan Insurance and Hagerty for keeping us fed and caffeinated, and our club sponsors Porsche Redwood City for spoiling us with gifts and swag.

In early June we honed our creative skills with Paint Your Porsche class taught by Bottle and Bottega Redwood City and generously hosted by Porsche Redwood City. The studio instructors prepared sketches of our cars, and we completed our paintings with their guidance. I was floored by the amount of talent in our club, and how many folks took no time getting from 0 to 60 with their art - many of our first-timers created stunning masterpieces! This was the quietest GGR event I’ve ever witnessed - everyone was deep in the zone, barely stopping even to indulge in delicious beverages and charcuterie (thanks Porsche Redwood City for the treats!). We will aim to repeat this event around the holidays as feasible.

To bring things full circle, we have a couple of fun events coming up that will bring different branches of the club together. June 29 we will be hosting a Track Social in conjunction with our DE and HPDE at Sonoma Raceway - drop by to spectate the races, immerse yourself into the paddock, and even drive some parade laps on the track, no experience required. Details coming shortly.

And finally, an event to remember - our 65th anniversary celebration is planned for July 19 at Hiller Aviation Museum. This will be a festive evening complete with speaker panel, generations-spanning car display, unique keepsakes, trivia and prizes, plus exclusive museum access and all the food and drink we need to keep fueled up through the night. Details coming shortly.

PS Yes, I'm still waiting for the new merch, but I am hearing it’s very close! Fingers crossed.

PPS Your social director will be away in the second half of June - please ping our Membership Director, Wen Shen for any questions in the meantime (membership@pca-ggr.org). Our Instagram page will be managed by Ryan Holmes, our Creative Director. Thanks Wen and Ryan!

Kind regards,

Diana
