August brings some of the biggest automotive events of the year with Werks, Rolex Reunion, Quail, and other Monterey Car week gatherings taking place right on our region’s doorstep. So, it was our thinking that after the fun and hectic days of car week festivities GGR members might want to hit the snooze button… And we were proven wrong.
Our August Cars and Coffee at Euro Clinic Bay Area was a resounding success, with strong turnout, great vibes all around, and fantastic hospitality from the Euro Clinic team. The warmth and enthusiasm of the Euro Clinic team was palpable in all the personal touches, from thoughtful parking arrangements, to refreshments and swag for both human participants and the four-legged friends. It was really a great time had by all, and we even didn’t forget to snag a group picture at the end!

September 13th marked a very special occasion - PCA National 70th Birthday. We held multiple events across GGR to celebrate the day. As many of you know, while Social is my GGR Board position, my favorite car activity is actually driving on the track. Just so it happened that we had a GGR track weekend already planned on this date. So I was beyond excited to get together with our Track Chairs and plan a few fun surprises for our 70th anniversary track weekend. Huge thanks to Jim and Scott and everyone on the track team as well as our Thunderhill hosts. We had a festive track dinner with raffle, prizes, and custom PCA 70th themed decor. According to the Thunderhill team, it was the first time the track building had balloons ever! Great fun was had by all.
Thunderhill Track Celebration for GGR 70th birthday The weekend kicked off with a track walk, continued with racing and HPDE, and Saturday evening we enjoyed a festive dinner complete with decor, birthday cake and raffle.
We are gearing up for a busy fall, with an upcoming car and coffee at Dynamic Detailing (Sept 28th), SF Sportscars (October 25th), and we also finally have the date for our Charity PCA x SPCA event - November 23rd at AutoVino!More details are coming soon.
