PCA-GGR Autocross Enthusiasts,
Autocross #8 on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Crows Landing NAS
We hosted 60 drivers running in 53 cars, including 6 novice drivers for whom we provided instructors. Our course was ~1.4 miles / 70 sec long and was designed by Peyton Chen with some power assist from Claude AI (a first). The heat dome over the Bay Area impacted attendance with weekend peak temps approaching 100 degrees. As PCA-GGR ran on Sunday our course was set up on Saturday evening, which allowed us to get as early start on Sunday. We did 6 runs (AM) and 3 runs (PM) and were done and packed up by 2:30 pm!
In Raw time, Tara Shapowal-Lau (M-03) took TToD at 64.679s in she and Steve Lau’s 2010 Cayman race car (“Stormy”), Steve Lau (M-03) was 2nd at 64.980s, Teddy Framhein (Fun) was 3rd in his 2009 Corvette Z06, Praneil Prasad (U-01) was 4th in Connie Lu’s 2014 Boxster S at 66.746s, Monty Pack (P-06) was 5th in his 2018 GT3 at 67.535s and Drew Powers (M-02) was 6th at 67.691s in his 2014 Cayman S.
In PAX time, Tara Shapowal-Lau was 1st at 63.515s, Steve Lau was 2nd at 63.810s, Drew Powers was 3rd at 65.186s, Connie Lu (O-04) was 4th in her 2014 Boxster S at 66.746s, John Leet (P-03) was 6th in Grady Carter’s 2016 Cayman 981 at 65.691s and Peyton Chen (P-05) was 6th in his 2022 718 Spyder at 65.696s.

2027 Season Autocross Schedule
Representatives of AAS, BMW, GGLC, PCA Clubs and SCCA met on 14-October to begin aligning on dates and venues for our respective events in 2027. Our schedule for 2027 – 4-5 events at Crows Landing NAS, plus 4-5 events at Alameda Point NAS in the warmer months – should be available by Thanksgiving. We will not likely run at Salinas Municipal Airport in 2027.
New Open-face Autocross Loaner Helmets
We purchased 12 new SA-2025 Zamp RZ-19S loaner helmets through LTB Racing, LLC with funding from our great sponsor, Porsche Redwood City!
