Autocross Blog Post for September
PCA-GGR Autocross Enthusiasts,
PCA-GGR Autocross #7, a Zone 7 Event
Our Autocross #7 unfolded on Saturday, September 13th at Crows Landing NAS. Registrations were strong with 71 drivers running in 63 cars. We hosted 59 drivers in Zone 7 Classes and 12 drivers in Fun Class. Our course was designed by Teddy Framhein and drivers commented that it was easy to read and was one of the best courses in recent times due to flow and skills required.
As this was a Zone 7 event, best morning and best afternoon times were added for a best overall time for the day. In RAW time, Tara Shapowal-Lau (2010 Cayman “Stormy” #187) took TToD on her second (morning) and first (afternoon) runs with a total time of 98.666 sec, Steve Lau (“Stormy” #87) was only slightly behind and took 2nd with a time of 98.834 sec. Teddy Framhein (2025 GT4 RS #106) took 3rd with a time of 101.775 sec (no photo available).
In PAX time, the top three drivers were the same with Tara taking 1st at 98.666 sec, Steve taking 2nd at 98.834 sec and Teddy 3rd at 99.536 sec. Other notable finishes were Charley Kurlinkus (2008 Cayman S #521) in 4th, Peyton Chen (2022 718 Spyder #29) in 5th, and Grady Carter (2016 Cayman #919) in 6th place.
Congratulations to all! **Photos are courtesy of Mike Koozmin from the Sunday PCA-LPR event.
That evening PCA-GGR hosted a Zone 7 dinner for ~40 drivers and a few guests at Javi’s Mexican Restaurant in Patterson, CA. The event presented an opportunity to hand PCA / PCA-GGR Anniversary Coins to attendees and included a tech quiz which stirred some controversy and informed challenges with questions on Porsche technology and PCA-GGR history. The highest quiz scores out of 60 points were in the low 40s and the first, second and third place winners received the promise of complementary future PCA-GGR autocross registrations.
We are grateful to Porsche Redwood City for their 2025 season sponsorship and support!
