Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

September 3, 2025


Attendance

  • Present: President - Howard Yao, Vice President - Brad Zucroff, Secretary - Eric Wilson, Treasurer - Alan Jung, Social - Diana Bogorodskaya, Autocross - Steve Forshay, Motoring - Cheryl Spott, Co-Track - Scott Kalkin, Co-Track - Jim McClelland, Nugget Editor - Jim Tierney

  • Not Present: Creative Director - Ryan Holmes, Membership - Wen Shen, Co-Webmaster - Christina Hamilton, Co-Webmaster - ​​Alexander Wu


Call to Order 6:08pm


President:

  • Discussion of Elections and formation of a Nominating Committee

    • Howard (President) will run for re-election

    • Eric (Secretary) will run for re-election

    • Steve Hogge and Kurt Eckhardt are interested in being Co-Track Chairs, likely with Steve as the voting member

    • Webmasters are not present today, need to see if Alex or Christine wants to run - Howard to follow up

    • Cheryl (Motoring) will run for re-election

  • GGR Challenge Coins

    • Ordered 500 pieces, will divide them up to event chairs for distribution to celebrate PCA’s 70th anniversary


Vice President:

  • No updates


Secretary:

  • Starting to experiment with Google Gemini AI for transcription & summarization of meeting - minutes will still be hand-edited for now, with the AI outputs used as a reference

  • Vote to approve August 6, 2025 minutes: APPROVED


Treasurer:

  • August 2025 financials discussion and the club’s finance are healthy, vote to accept: APPROVED


Autocross Director:

  • Autocross 6 held on August 10

  • Autocross 7 will be September 13 - event registrations are healthy, event will include a dinner for participants

  • Discussing the possibility of timed events at Alamada next year, seeking an in-person meeting with contacts

  • Trailer Update

    • Signed off on construction drawings (which turned out to be part of the timeline), so acquisition is on schedule

    • Researching 600w solar panel system on roof of trailer to be more self-sustaining - would discuss as part of next year’s budget

    • Investigating other potential storage locations that may be more secure as we experienced a break-in with minor losses while in the current storage facility


Track Director:

  • August 22-24 Club Race event with POC was successful, GGR interested in taking a more active role in organizing this event in the future

  • Thunderhill track event in September

    • Healthy DE registrations and expecting more racers now that prior races at Laguna Seca & Road America are completed

    • Planning 70th anniversary activities with assistance from Social

    • Hosted Ground School with Diablo and had great attendance

  • Laguna Seca track event in October

    • DE has wait-listed registration

    • Club Race registration just opened - collaborating with Speed SF on a Friday racer run group

  • Will submit a single reimbursement request to PCA National after Laguna - anticipating a significant refund

  • Communicating with all tracks about potential 2026 dates

  • Trailer title in-hand, pending DMV visit for transfer to club ownership


Motoring Director:

  • PCA 70th anniversary Fun Run has wait-listed registration with 64 drivers & 37 passengers with 5 groups

  • Los Gatos to Pacific Grove Fun Run on August 10 had ~50 cars

  • Planning 2-day Fun Run next month


Social Director:

  • August 31 Cars & Coffee held at Euro Clinic (latest track sponsor)

  • Coordinating with Track on September 13 celebration for PCA’s 70th anniversary at Thunderhill

  • Next Cars & Coffee is September 28 at Dynamic Detailing

  • Following Cars & Coffee is October 25 at SF Sports Cars

  • Planning joint Cars & Coffee and charity fundraising event with SPCA in November

  • Discussion of feedback received via social media

  • Sourcing new standing banner from FedEx for Social/Membership events


Membership Director:

  • Not present, updates & new member list sent via email

  • September 1, 2025 member counts

    • PCA GGR

      • 3989 total (2819 primary members, 1167 co-members, 3 honorary)

      • 163 PCA Juniors, 146 renewals, 58 dropped, 70 new members

    • PCA National: 166,715 active members (110,036 primary & 56,657 co-members)

  • Vote to accept new members: APPROVED

  • Discussion of new member “onboarding” process and potential things to try


Webmaster:

  • Not present


Nugget Editor:

  • Submission deadline for this month’s newsletter is September 15
