Driving Into Spring at Salinas Municipal Airport

PCA-GGR Autocross Enthusiasts,

We had a great Spring weekend with our first event at Salinas Municipal Airport this season with PCA-GGR running on Saturday, May 16th and PCA-LPR running on Sunday May 17th.  Our course was designed by Connie Lu who used a larger-than-usual area of the available asphalt to craft a great sequence of fast and slower, slalom, offset and turn-around elements that were both technical and challenging.

Monty Pack, PCA-GGR Chief Instructor, took TToD at 45.339 sec in RAW time in his 2018 GT3 running in Class P-06.  Ed Valko took 2nd in his 2024 GT4 RS at 45.725 sec in Class M-03.  Drew Powers in his 2014 Cayman S in M-02 Class and Dave Dunwoodie in his 2016 GT4 in P-05 Class were neck-and-neck with Drew taking 3rd at 45.768 sec and Dave taking a close 4th at 45.809 sec.  Connie Lu in her 2014 Boxster S in O-04 Class took 5th at 45.998 sec and Grady Carter, PCA-GGR Safety Steward, in his 2016 Cayman S in P-03 Class finished 6th with a 46.089 run.  Congrats to all for the close competition.

In PAX (times normalized to car capabilities), the order was virtually reversed.  Grady took 1st in PAX at 43.241 sec, Connie took 2nd at 43.652 sec and Drew took 3rd at 44.075 sec.  They were followed by Monty in 4th at 44.342 sec, Dave in 5th at 44.343 sec and Alexander Estuesta in his 2009 Cayman running in P-03 Class in 6th.  Again, congratulations on the very competitive results!

In early June we will issue an important announcement regarding our return to Alameda Point!

We are grateful to Porsche Redwood City for their 2026 season sponsorship and support!
