Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

August 5, 2026


Attendance

  • Present: President - Howard Yao, Vice President - Brad Zucroff, Secretary - Eric Wilson, Treasurer - Alan Jung, Membership - Wen Shen, Social - Diana Bogorodskaya, Autocross - Steve Forshay, Co-Track - Steve Hogge, Co-Track - Kurt Eckhardt, Webmaster & Rally Director - Jessica Toney, Concours - Pia Mancini

  • Not Present: Motoring - Cheryl Spott, Nugget Editor - Jim Tierney, Club Race Director - Dan Zitter, Technology Advisor - Alex Wu


Call to Order 6:11pm


President:

  • Bylaws Update (provided by Eric)

    • Last scheduled committee meeting had to be pushed, will be rescheduled

    • Target is a working draft presented at the next Board meeting

    • Howard suggested checking with the CA Secretary of State website for specific requirements for the legal status of our organization, Jessica will follow up

  • GGR Cycling continues with a great group

  • Recap of Zone 7 Presidents Call

  • Discussion about Board Elections this November

    • Seeking candidates for Vice President and Autocross

    • Have a candidate for Nugget Editor

    • Have potential candidates for Membership & Social

    • Treasurer (Alan) will run for re-election

    • Forming nominating committee with Howard, Kurt, Steve, and Jessica

    • Eric will handle logistics of the election - candidates should send in a photo and candidate statement (brief paragraph)


Creative Director:

  • Not present


Vice President:

  • Insurance for late-August Sonoma DE secured


Secretary:

  • Vote to approve July 1, 2026 minutes: APPROVED


Treasurer:

  • July 2026 financials discussion - club’s finances are stable, continuing to improve slightly, vote to accept: APPROVED


Concours Director:

  • Concours event on August 2 at Porsche Redwood City was very successful, logistically improved from last year

  • Feedback from the dealer and others will be incorporated into next year’s event


Autocross Director:

  • Call for next Autocross Director posted in The Nugget, including a job description

  • Autocross #5 (a Zone 7 event) held July 11 at Salinas had slightly lower attendance than hoped

  • Autocross #6 on August 23 at Salinas has registration open

  • Autocross #7 (a Zone 7 event) on Sep 12 at Crows Landing will have a large (~90 second) course, so targeting more registrations; will host a Zone 7 dinner afterwards

  • Loaner helmets need to be updated by the end of the year, investigating group-buy opportunities


Track Director:

  • Discussion of Track program finances, including just-realized & expected revenue/expenses

  • Laguna Seca event partnering with POC just concluded, worked out very well

  • Reviewed registration numbers for upcoming Sonoma Friday (one-day) on August 28 and October 3-4 weekend (with Diablo running Friday)

  • Working on 2027 track schedule

  • Update on Sponsorships presented


Motoring Director:

  • Not present

  • The Committee formed to update Motoring event procedures, including revisions to the Drivers Meeting script, had met previously

  • The Board extensively discussed whether or not the event scheduled for the upcoming weekend should be held while updated procedures were not yet finalized

    • A motion was made, seconded, and approved (vote: 5 yes, 3 against, 1 abstained) that revised principles & procedures (including the Drivers Meeting script) must be documented to a level satisfactory to the Committee, as well as reviewed & acknowledged (to the Committee) by Leads & Sweeps by Friday, Aug 7 at noon for the weekend drive to be held

    • The viability of this deadline was further debated and considered against a potential last-minute cancellation

    • An additional motion was made, seconded, and approved (vote: 5 yes, 3 against, 1 abstained) to cancel this weekend’s event

    • Howard will communicate the result of these votes and ensure refunds are issued to registered drivers


Social Director:

  • Cars & Coffee on July 18 at Dynamic Detailing had huge attendance, continuing to be a very popular venue

  • Cars & Coffee on July 25 at the VW Engineering & Innovation Center California was a hugely successful event with displays from partners (including Porsche Redwood City and ISSIMI) and VW prototypes

  • Porsche Redwood City event on 944 Heritage Day was promoted on social channels and well attended by GGR members

  • Next Cars & Coffee will be Sept 20 at Ariana Auto Body

  • GGR Instagram has hit 5k followers


Membership Director:

  • August 1, 2026 member counts

    • PCA GGR

      • 4053 total (2855 primary members, 1194 co-members, 4 honorary)

      • 101 PCA Juniors, 206 renewals, 64 dropped, 50 new members

    • PCA National: 171,834 active members (113,067 primary & 58,744 co-members)

  • Vote to accept new members: APPROVED

  • Working with SP Motorsports on a new member event, presenting potential dates


Webmaster:

  • Website is stable with no complaints


Rally Director:

  • Planning a Rally, tentatively on Sunday, November 8, 2026

    • Plan is a 3-hour photo rally (not timed) and coastal route

    • Budget will be $1k expenses, offset with registrations - will be officially submitted for a vote in the next meeting

    • Ideally would start & end at a sponsor location


Nugget Editor:

  • Not present, update provided by email

  • Submission deadline for this month’s newsletter is August 15, 2026
